We invite you to northern Michigan. It’s a great place to live and we think you will find it a great place to spend a week or weekend with your family or friends.

Our two cottages are located on small man made lakes surrounded by 30 acres of meadow and woodland. They are just two miles from the small town of Fairview where you can buy supplies and groceries. Our cottages offer a quiet, relaxing vacation to those who prefer the therapy only nature can give.

The cottages are carpeted throughout, have a bath with shower, kitchen, living and dining area. And also have fireplaces--wood in the chalet and gas logs in the A-Frame. The kitchen is completely furnished including utensils, electric stove, refrigerator, microwave oven, toaster and coffee maker. Each cottage has a deck across the front with barbecue grill, and small sun deck off the upstairs bedroom. A separate beach area and dock are located in front of each cottage. New at the A-Frame in June, 2006 is a 3rd bedroom opening to the deck towards the lake. Also have added Dish Network & DVD player.

YOU WILL NEED TO BRING YOU OWN SHEETS, PILLOW CASES AND TOWELS. We furnish blankets, pillows and baby bed if needed.

Deer, turkey and other wildlife can be seen in the woodland and surrounding area and many species of bird make Lori Lane their home.

Recreation includes swimming, fishing and boating. PLEASE BRING YOUR OWN LIFE VESTS.  Field glasses will make bird watching and hiking the mowed trails more interesting. Nearby are three golf courses, a Pioneer Museum, the Michigan Magazine Museum, the Michigan Au Sable Valley Railroad, horseback riding, and canoeing & kayaking on the Au Sable River. Groomed snowmobile trails, downhill and cross-country skiing, elk viewing and more are only a short drive away.

We live one mile north and and one and a half miles west of Fairview on Helmer Lake Road.  Follow I-75 north to exit 202, then north on M-33 to Mio.  Continue on M-33, 7 miles to Perry Creek Road, turn left, and go one mile to Helmer Lake Road. Turn right and go one half mile to our home at 1316 Helmer Lake Road.
